About Donna Baringer

Growing up in Jefferson City, Missouri, I spent time in the state Capitol, where my mother worked. At a young age I observed that getting access to those in power was key to being an agent of change. This early understanding of public policy empowered me to make a positive difference in all aspects of her career. In 2017, I was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives to represent the 82nd District. During my freshman term, I was the only democrat to pass my own legislation that became law. Throughout my time as a State Representative, I have served as the Ranking Chair of Administration and Account and Fiscal Review, while also serving on house committees: Local Government, Elections and Elected officials, Senate Joint Committee on Legislation, Joint Committee on Government Accountability, Joint Committee on Legislative Research, and the Capitol Commission, which oversees the updates to the Capitol. She secured the organ donate button on theMissouri Department of Conservations website that received over hits in its first year. After visiting the Vandalia Women's Correctional Facility, where I was able to do coordinate a meeting at the facility with the Women in Trades organization to introduce offenders to construction jobs upon their release from prison. Donna has been honored for her accomplishments. In 2014 she received the Boy Scouts “Good Scout” award, and in 2010 received the Girl Scouts “Women of Distinction” award. Bike St. Louis/Trail Net honored her for her contribution to cycling, Webster Groves/Shrewsbury Chamber of Commerce for her work on the metro link station development. Before becoming an elected official she received the Outstanding Leadership awards from the South Kingshighway Business Association, Outstanding community volunteer from the St. Louis Public Schools and the Certificate of recognition for meritorious effort from St. Louis Community College for outstanding support of students with disabilities
