About Donna Carson

Most recently, I am proud to say that I have been hired as an Instructor at Niagara University's Teacher Education Program, teaching online the course 791 Professional Seminar in Education to NU students currently in their final semester in the Master's of Education Program. This course runs concurrently with their final Student Teacher Field Placement. I am an experienced educator in all 3 divisions: Primary, Intermediate and Senior as both homeroom teacher and in support positions. Special Education Specialist and have direct work experience with multiple exceptionalities. CPS Tier 2 and BMS trained and PPQ Part 1 certificates completed. Host and mentor to many Student Teachers within Halton Public and Catholic School Boards. Before Halton, I was an Adjunct Professor at Niagara University’s Teacher Education Program. Courses taught were Foundations of Primary Literacy (Grades 1-6) and Methods of Teaching Language Arts and Social Studies. Also served on NU staff panel that presented for reaccreditation with the Ministry of Education of Ontario. Completed all coursework, residency requirements and successful dissertation defence for PHD in History of Education In Ontario (Historical Study of the Full Funding of Separate (Catholic) Schools in Ontario with a minor in Administration in Organizational Leadership and Policy Department at SUNY at Buffalo (Amherst Campus). Evaluating student teachers in field placements was another set of experiences at SUNY during my doctoral studies as well as instructing course directed to Student Teachers before their Field Placements began.
