About Donna Doiron

Creativity is a core element in everything I do, which means there are no barriers between my personal and my business creativity. And yes, I am left-handed, which means I have learned most of what I do by watching and figuring it out in a right-handed world. Most of my adult life was working for my own company which was remodeling and design with my husband, Paul. It was a great time to be in the industry. From the time we began, while using Autocad (yikes, while still in single digits!), and incorporating the use of Quicken to Quickbooks to Pro, a lot of our struggle had less to do with building itself and more with the adoption of a digital world. But that was a long time ago, and most calculations and cost factors are digitized to the Nth degree, and if you cannot plug in a design and have an equation to factor in costs and profits, you are way behind. My current association with RFP Properties utilizes my analytical nature as well as my working knowledge of construction and administrative functions. As a project estimator, it has proven to be invaluable in new property acquisitions as well as in the maintenance or improvement on existing properties. The ability to review Home Inspections during the acquisition process has allowed me to predict Capital Budget figures, Make-Ready plans and negotiate new counter-offers that have a solid basis in predictable cost figures. Project Mgmt comes natural to me as one who leads willingly, thus my recent role with The Weber Group for a residential project. Accountability, along with a communication style that is direct and on-point makes for great results and satisfaction for all. As a keen specification writer, my experience in this role utilizes my grammatical skills for an industry that demands as close to exact as one can describe, and has been the key to many successes I have had a lot of diverse titles in my career: Facilitator, Administrator, Designer, and Organizer. I have a lot of interests and a lot of energy, so I have made myself open to opportunities that perhaps others may have looked away from. As a "Why Not?" person, it just means that I have an open mind and am willing to see value in almost anything. Each facet of every experience has some bearing on how I now think. I have a mind for details and numbers, which is not always common in design, but I also am aware of the subtle nuances of relationships, personalities, and experiences that play into everyone's bottom line. This is key to successful negotiations and it is key to business today, regardless of whether it's remote or not.
