About Donna Johns-Thomas

I’m a collaborative leader with a deep background in organizational learning, professional development, and mission-aligned training strategy. Across my 20+ year career—spanning youth-serving nonprofits, statewide networks, and sector-wide compliance—I’ve designed and led systems that equip teams, support managers, and sustain cultures where both people and purpose thrive. As Director of Learning and Development at Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, I oversee training across 9 sites, supporting 250+ staff members with tools for youth development, trauma-informed care, and professional growth. My work is informed by a strong equity lens, deep knowledge of youth program operations and DPH regulation, and a firm belief that great organizations are built by investing in great people. In addition to my full-time role, I serve as President of the Massachusetts Camping Association and am a frequent public speaker and facilitator in the nonprofit space.
