With over 17 years of specialised nursing experience in public hospitals, community and not for profit settings.I have built a career grounded in compassion, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to person-centred care. In 2022 I became a 500-hour qualified yoga teacher. I created Yoga with Donna as a space where people can pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves amidst the busyness of life.My work, both in nursing and yoga, is centered around holding space for others, supporting people not only through their health journeys, but also in finding moments of calm, balance and wellbeing.I have recently been invite as a keynote speaker to hold space and provide valuable education on self-regulation and sustainability to health care professionals.My expertise in nursing lies in Neurological and Rehabilitation care, areas that continually challenge and inspire me.Throughout my career, I’ve held a variety of impactful roles including Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse, Staff Development Nurse, Clinical Nurse Manager, Subacute Care Coordinator, and currently, Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist. These roles have spanned subacute and rehabilitation inpatient settings, where I’ve led multidisciplinary teams, coordinated complex care, delivered staff education, and contributed to the development of new services aimed at improving patient outcomes.One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey was leading a team of over 40 ward nurses, which not only honed my leadership capabilities but reinforced my dedication to high-quality, team-driven care. I now deliver specialised care to a large patient load within the Southwest community, whilst advocating for awareness and change with board and committee positions.In my current role, I provide specialist Parkinson’s nursing support and education across homes, hospitals, and aged care facilities in the Southwest region. Supporting individuals living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions in their own environments is both a privilege and a responsibility I carry with deep purpose and pride.
