About Donna Richardson

My career has been a wonderful journey of experiences working in fundraising and marketing, both for not-for-profits and on the agency side. My interest in all things related to philanthropy started with my first fundraising role when I learned from one of our industry's best direct marketing and fundraising professionals, Steve Thomas. My love of the business allowed for a smooth transition through the ranks over the years, learning various aspects of the agency business. From there, I developed a keen interest in better understanding the motivations that inspire Canadians to volunteer and donate through major and planned gifts. For the past eight years I have had the good fortune of working in development roles with several charities including Variety Village, Branksome Hall and Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation where I worked with committees, boards and staff to foster and grow a culture of philanthropy and let's face it, raise much needed revenue.Today, I'm back at Stephen Thomas helping our charity clients navigate and achieve fundraising success in this time of great transition. Marketing and fundraising, and all of the influence it can exert is a source of endless fascination for me, so it's fair to say that I am having an amazing time doing the work that I do, with the incredible team that I get to work with everyday. I'm currently leading the team to find innovative fundraising solutions for our colleagues in the sector and I must say, it is an absolute pleasure, as are the exceptional clients that we work with every day.Life is very good at Stephen Thomas!
