About Donna Socha

Big changes in the last year! I retired from my Advising position at Lesley University, sold my home in Cambridge, MA moved to beautiful Santa Fe, NM. I am currently seeking a position here where I can help the local community as a mental health counselor and educator. Currently, I am teaching via Zoom and providing supervision for 7 stuidents in the New England area. They are Master's candidates in the Lesley Univesity Expressive Arts Low Residency program. A little bit about my past experience. I have Master's degree in Human Development and Education from Boston University, 1991. I went on to earn a second Master's degree in Expressive Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in 2004. I started teaching at Lesley University as Adjunct Faculty in 2010. I have clinical experience in a variety of settings including residential schools for adolescents, a college counseling center, psycho-education/group therapy in a partial-hospitalization treatment program, relapse prevention in an IOP for substance abuse and an out-patient practice working in a community health center. As an artist, I work in my art studio using collage, photography, and assemblage to explore metaphor and story-telling. I believe that maintaining my artist identity is an important part of my professional identity as an expressive therapist.
