About Donnie Dewees

Currently pursuing my bachelors degree from the University of North Florida. I had the opportunity to work an internship with the University of North Florida baseball team. With that internship I learned how to work with analytics from Rapsodo, analyze swings, and compile scouting reports for opponents. I have been blessed in this lifetime with the opportunity and talents to play professional baseball and witness first-hand the logistics behind it. Currently I play baseball in Des Moines, Iowa. I was drafted in 2015 by the Chicago Cubs and have been pursuing my dream of making in to the Major Leagues diligently. The work that goes in behind closed doors in the biggest factor in making it. On the outside, people can see what happens on the field, but what separates good from great is what you do off the field in the off-season. The hard work and dedication is a skill that will drive me no matter where life takes me. I am very good at communicating with others and very diligent about getting tasks done. In the off-season, I am fortunate to work with many other big leaguers in the weight room and hitting facilities. After baseball I would love to continue working in baseball/management. I have been provided the opportunity to travel all over the US and even internationally to the Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Canada and Mexico. Currently, I am working on my fluency in Spanish to help better connect with many that I work alongside. I have attended Big League Camp in 2017 and 2018. I have communicated with some of the greats, such as Bo Jackson, George Brett, Mike Sweeney, Joe Maddon, David Ross, all of the current Chicago Cubs, and many others. In the off-seasons I also enjoy volunteering with youth baseball players to pass along my knowledge to them that I have acquired through the years. I am a very passionate person and love to help others. I work hard and maintain a positive, healthy environment and promote the same for those around me.
