About Donny Hacker

I spent around 20 or so odd years working for Uncle Sam and working within the American criminal justice system. Then I had an epiphany that I did not particularly enjoy working in that field bearing witness to so many of the problems making headlines today. So here I am actively seeking a career change as well as pursuing self-employment possibilities. I have discovered that I enjoy working within the field of education, conducting research of all kinds (particularly in the realm of criminology, social justice, Buddhism, Islamic/Muslim studies, and psychology), and writing, editing, and proofreading various materials (particularly Buddhist texts and Buddhist related materials - see the link to my website in this profile to see my work to date). I also have an active interest in cross cultural studies and would welcome opportunities outside of the United States teaching, conducting research, or any other opportunity that would allow me to put my skills to use. What can I offer you? All I can offer you is my strong work ethic, my anal retentive tendency towards punctuality (I'm always early), and a ruthless sense of efficiency (meaning I will get the job done when it is supposed to be done, if not early). My years spent in the criminal justice field, working within the confines of the federal government, and completing my studies in criminology and psychology have left me uniquely suited to address a variety of the problems plaguing American society today. This includes abuses and biases occurring within the federal and local criminal justice systems (racial issues, unfair sentencing guidelines, police profiling, etc.), social justice issues and concerns, LGBTQ issues, mental health concerns, and even some of the current immigration issues occurring at this very moment. As an added bonus, I guarantee that you will not find me playing on my phone while I am supposed to be working.
