About Donya Mehran

I am a Ph.D. candidate focusing on the AEC/FM sector. As previously I have worked for over 7 years in this industry, UAE (mainly Dubai & AbuDhabi) based, I have seen various waste in projects caused mainly by stakeholders involved. Therefore, currently, I am focusing on the application of the BIM-enabled Lean framework for asset management from an information management perspective. Previously I have worked as BIM/VDC professional, for a UAE-based main contractor in the role of BIM lead. My role concerned the functional and operational responsibility for the pre and post-contract BIM and engineering activities of the Groups projects. Prior to this, I held a consulting position of BIM Engineer overseeing BIM requirements as per Employers Information requirements and preparing BIM Execution plans for the pre and post-contract throughout the construction. I possess sound and knowledgeable experience in the construction industry gained through a tenure of over 7 years working in the UAE During my career I have worked on a diverse portfolio of projects from inception to completion, principally in the commercial, residential, and hospitality sectors. I have worked for a number of Tier 1 clients, including major developers, financial institutions, industry-leading consultants. My attributes include the ability to collate, analyses, and communicate information at varying levels of a business, with a proven track record in delivering projects to the highest standard, within budget, and on time. I am experienced at managing a diverse team of professionals, of various backgrounds and ethnicity, and particularly enjoy developing and mentoring individuals, so that they realize their own potential and achieve the goals set for and by them.
