About Doreen Steenson

I have over 30 years’ experience in the health care environment with 20 years in project management of capital build projects. I began my career in project management as a project manager for the Order Communication Information Technology System in Tallaght Hospital prior to its opening in 1998. She continued in the position of Nurse Planning Officer in the Mater Hospital before becoming Project Manager for the capital construction projects. I have project managed many construction projects in the Mater Hospital including • BreastCheck, • Diabetic Day Centre • Centre for Liver Disease, • Heart House, • Heart Lung Transplantation ward and High Dependency Unit, • Emergency Department Upgrade • Research Laboratory • Molecular Laboratory • Oncology Day Ward • Family Room and Comfort Care Suites • Academic Centre I am a Registered General Nurse and Registered Midwife and brings the clinical knowledge to all my projects. I have a vast understanding of the operation of an acute hospital and how to manage construction projects in this environment.
