As an NIH-KI Pre-Doctoral Fellow with the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences and the Karolinska Institutet, I use basic and translational science techniques to develop specific probes to characterize how modulations human selenoprotein glutathione peroxidases (GPX) affect disease, including aggressive cancers and ultrarare genetic disorders. I am passionate about traineeship, collaboration, and the promotion and streamlining of rare disease research and translation. Better science is possible when people from different backgrounds come together with a common goal—and I hope to both participate in doing good science and enable others to join the conversation.
