With my background as a lawyer in Peru, coupled with my graduate honours in Immigration Case Management and Law Clerk Diploma, I've consistently strived to use the law as an instrument of justice and empowerment. My commitment to advocacy and ensuring individuals' rights are protected is not just a job description; it's a deeply rooted principle that guides my every interaction. In my role as an Outreach Counselor, I took confidentiality, client concerns, and comprehensive assessments seriously. The trust built over time through open and ongoing communication became the bedrock of strong relationships, resulting in more effective and personalised support for my clients. My stewardship of multiple programs demonstrated my capacity to work efficiently, manage complexity, and still deliver excellent results. My work at Gillian's Place honed my skills as a counselor, providing crisis support for women and their families, managing crisis calls around the clock, and demonstrating my resilience and commitment. Transitioning to a Housing Support Worker role, I walked alongside women during their most challenging times, empowering them to navigate life changes with confidence and resilience. Perhaps my most fulfilling achievement was developing the 8-week psychoeducational outreach group program, Surviving To Thriving. This program transformed caregivers and their children's lives by providing them with education about abuse, safety measures, and coping strategies, equipping them with tools to build resilience. Bilingual and culturally sensitive, I am adept at serving diverse populations. My skills in client communication, program coordination, and statistical reporting, coupled with my expertise in legal support, psychoeducation, and transitional support, position me uniquely in the counseling and advocacy landscape. My journey is a testament to my dedication and resilience in the face of adversity. I am here to make a difference, to empower, and to advocate.
