About Doris Velazquez

I'm an experienced language professional providing translations and interpretations services with focus on the education, medical and legal spheres. I've been a part of the greater Sacramento community for fifteen years. In that time both as a working professional and a volunteer, I had the opportunity to get to know a wide array of people with varying linguistic needs. My drive to help people effectively communicate grows with each experience. Volunteering at Clara's House open my view to the lack of accessibility to medical interpretations to a vulnerable portion of our population. Patients no matter what language they speak are entitled to make an informed decision and actively participate in the planning of their medical care. As an interpreter, I am able to be the bridge between the patient and his/her medical provider. My presence as a Scout Troop Leader in Girls Scout of America and as a Cub Master in Boys Scouts of America in Mojave, California began when I noticed the need in the large Hispanic community to be able to access these prestigious nonprofit institutions. It was an honor to guide these youngsters to civic engagement, community participation and personal responsibility. At the time I left my country of origin I was a small business owner, dedicated to teach, interpret and translate language rendering services to the Vice Presidency office, Protocol office of the Ministry or External Relations, Controller General of the Republic of Paraguay as well as private enterprises such as Laser Import, Telefuturo, Xerox del Paraguay, Banco Do Brazil, Coca Cola and Cargill. I remain committed to constantly improving my skill to offer the highest level of language services to every client.
