About Dorothy Wright

My motivation for teaching each day is 3 pronged: •Love for children •Love of education •Desire to inspire others I love walking into my classroom everyday and preparing an environment of success for my students. When I walk to the bus lot and see their smiling faces, all of the time, money and energy that I put in seem trivial in comparison to what I receive back from them each day. Education is my passion. When I was in elementary school, I was told that “school is my job.” I am an introvert, what New York Times Best Selling Author Susan Cain (Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking) in her book Quiet refers to as someone with “.quiet fortitude.” I took the task of education seriously and am successful today because of it. Finally, I have a desire to inspire others. I did not have the best childhood growing up. But I never allowed my circumstances to dictate my future. I want to inspire other minorities, women and especially children growing up in low socioeconomic situations; giving them a role model to pattern their lives after. “To be great you have to surround yourself with greatness” (I heard Steve Harvey say this on his radio show one morning).
