Dr. Dorthe Klein is a senior researcher at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Technology Assessment (KEMTA). Prior to joining KEMTA, she worked as a Scientific Knowledge Manager at Danone Research, followed by a role as a research dietitian for the EnCoRe (Energy for life after ColoRectal cancer) study at the University of Maastricht's Department of Epidemiology. Dr. Klein obtained her PhD in 2019, focusing on the use of medical record reviews to measure and improve patient safety. Her doctoral research included an analysis of both the internal and external reproducibility of a committee's judgments regarding the presence and preventability of adverse events in patients who died during their hospital stay. Since earning her PhD, she has continued to conduct research aimed at enhancing the quality and safety of healthcare
