About Dorus Eggermont
Before my medical career, I studied communication science at the University of Amsterdam. After becoming a BSc in 2012 and a MSc in 2013, I decided to switch lanes and turn to the field of medicine. During my first three years as a medical student, I was a teaching assistent in emergency care medicine. I was also involved in various research projects and followed the honours programme. In 2016, I got my bacholor's degree (cum laude). During my clinical internships, I was a research assistent on the Laboratory of Experimental Intensive Care & Anesthesiology (LEICA) focussing on transfusion-related acute lung injury. Also, I started a new study in the field of primary care medicine, resulting into my first publication in 2018. My senior internship, as well as my research internship, were located at the intensive care department of the academic medical centre in Amsterdam. In October 2019, I recieved my medical degree.
