About Dot Gillespie

I am passionate about the effective leadership of services for children, young people and families and sincerely believe that it is only through investment and development of people that great services will grow. I have been fortunate to have had many opportunities to develop my own leadership style within a broad range of services for children and families from highly specialist services such as children's oncology and haematology services to children's community services at both universal and specialist level and currently within the third sector in my current role as Director of Care/ Deputy CEO at The Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust. Whilst working in the East Midlands I became the first Leadership Academy Associate for children and Families, as part of this role I designed and delivered a bespoke training programme to facilitate the implementation of the national Call to Action Health Visiting programme. This programme was initially commissioned for 1 cohort and is now on cohort 13! It has evaluated very well. I have my own company which designs and provides bespoke leadership programmes and will, once I secure my qualification in ILM Level 7 Executive Coaching in spring 2014, provide coaching and personal development services. I am passionate about developing people in order to develop and provide effective services.
