Over 25 years of experience in health information management and technology with a Master’s Degree in Education. Passionate, self-motivated, organized Educator with skills in curriculum development, individual and group training, and problem solving. Effective leader able to enlist the support of team members to meet objectives. Applies interactive teaching method that encourages student participation and enthusiasm, while facilitating learning. My teaching philosophy is student-centered, focusing on learning about the student (background, experience, culture, barriers). It is also significant to coach students to competency development by asking questions and brainstorming. Effective methods such as responding to student inquiries about content, the course of study, learning resources and assessments are incorporated. Providing a classroom environment conducive to learning is effective. This is achieved by organizing concepts in a logical and understandable sequence, using examples and student interaction to facilitate learning. Differentiated instructional practices are applied to ensure students are part of a learning experience that caters to their learning needs. Promoting student success by showing flexibility in style, method, and communication is essential. I encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics, as well as personal and professional development, which includes emphasizing real-world application of content.
