About Doug Barnette

I am a Commercial Surety Underwriting Leader of Westfield Insurance Company or in other words, a Home-Office underwriter. I also hold a Florida Property & Casualty agent license as well as Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters and Associate in Fidelity & Surety Bonding designations.I began my career in 1976 with The Hartford Insurance Group as a premium accounting clerk and over the next 12 years advanced to a Home-Office management position. In 1988 I relocated to Florida and moved over to fidelity & surety underwriting where I held various underwriting, management and quality assurance positions. In 2008 I left The Hartford and went for a cup of coffee at Accredited Surety & Casualty Company before moving to Old Republic Surety Company for the next 12 years. In 2021, the best career opportunity of my life came when I answered a phone call from Westfield, and it is here I found my home until someday when I finally hang it up. Until then, I will continue to work with all the great agents I have worked with over the years, develop new friends and associates, and do whatever I can to support the fantastic Westfield Surety team I have the pleasure of working with.
