About Doug Bloom

Supervised, implemented, designed visual effects used on over 30 feature films and recognized by The Hollywood Reporter: Next Generation Issue 2007 I have held jobs at major commercial and feature production studios in Los Angeles and New York. Over the years, I have filled several supervisory and creative roles on a wide range of projects, including location-based attractions, VR/AR projects, motion pictures, television commercials, music videos, and the development of efficient content production pipelines. With a foundation in fine arts and over 25 years of professional experience, I bring to the table a strong creative vision complemented by a mastery of technical skills and forward-looking ideas. Through working in both studio and software development environments, I have a masterful understanding of both the technical and artistic challenges of media production. I have frequently served as a bridge between the creative teams and technicians tasked with bringing a product to life. Additionally, I have been a major contributor to the design and implementation of in-house Academy Award-winning software and numerous other proprietary workflows, simulation, and rendering tools. Throughout my professional career, I also served as an adjunct professor at Santa Monica College, an independent consultant/trainer, and guest speaker at various industry conferences and seminars organized by ACM SIGGRAPH, The Visual Effects Society (VES), and the I3Forum.
