I'm a soulful, empathic person with many passions such as learning, seeking new challenges, helping others, making life more fun, finding the silver lining, foxy though it may be, and bringing happiness, love and humor to life. Light, levity, and the pursuit of sappiness. I’ve always enjoyed the process of discovering and sharing new things and have been a storyteller from a young age. In grade school I'd make notes in my binder about anything interesting I noticed, whether it was other students, our teacher's nose hair, or something else entirely. I tracked my thoughts in a journal, wrote some short stories, and in middle school created a weekly comic strip about a nerdy caterpillar named Bookworm.(A proud moment: my artwork appeared on the cover of the Disneyland "Line" employee magazine, the longest running publication in the history of the Walt Disney Company, December 16, 1994, Vol. 26, No. 49.) Eventually, I moved on to blogs and wrote news and opinions articles in college for the U.C. Riverside "Highlander." My love for words has helped me win many Scrabble tournaments since I was a teenager and at one point I paid my rent by Scrabble hustling. I have maintained personal blogs for over 15 years and begun managing social media and technical writing for Woogles.io, a nonprofit word-gaming startup. I enjoy bringing daily infectious energy to work and lifting up others while achieving great things. Since nothing is more enjoyable than communicating something precisely the best way, for my next role, I'm open to opportunities where I can Shohei my writing porkchops to the world. I'm seeking a full-time position in Content, Marketing, Operations, Social Media, News, Editing and similar fields. I have 4+ years in education, 6+ at startups and 5+ in nonprofits. Looking forward to new connections and adventures in the story of my life. In my free time I'm a gamer, gardener, photographer, fitness enthusiast, reader of words backwards to find palindromes hiding in plain sight, certified fun haver, and full believer I'm invincible at Scrabble. I'm a voracious, curvaceous, courageous and spontaneous eater, but during the pandemic my most marketable skill is connecting emotionally with cats. My idea of a fulfilling weekend is editing my profile at 3 a.m. to make sure everyone knows what a hard worker they're looking at. I'm a bit goofy, but I wouldn't hold that against you.
