About Doug Brown

I am a CEO, board-level executive and strategic advisor with deep experience leading purpose-driven organisations across health, medical research, and not-for-profit sectors. As CEO of the Royal Society of Biology I lead our work in bringing the diverse bioscience community together, helping create an environment for all to thrive and ensuring that biology continues to play its part in tackling the worlds most pressing challenges. As previous CEO of the British Society for Immunology, I have championed cross-sector collaboration, shaped national research agendas, and supported the global immunology community through a period of rapid change. My earlier leadership roles at the Alzheimer’s Society and Multiple Sclerosis Society combined policy influence, R&D governance, and service transformation at scale. As Founder of Doug Brown Executive Coaching Ltd, I also coach CEOs, senior leaders and executive teams across research, academic, public and private sectors. I bring a people-first leadership ethos, a systems thinking mindset, and demonstrable success in helping those I coach achieve their goals. I am also exploring NED and advisory opportunities where I can support organisations with strategy, leadership resilience, and mission-led impact.
