About Doug Clark

Clark began his career in transportation in 1980 at Golman-Hayden (GH), a produce brokerage firm in Dallas Texas. In 1981, Cargo-Master(CM) was created to take advantage of de-regulation of transportation commodities. After becoming partner and eventually owner, he led the growth of the company from 7 employees to more than 170, with revenues rising from under to more than $140 MM. In 2006, Fenway Partners acquired CM/GH and merged with Transport Industries. In 2007, the holding company was re-branded to GreatWide Logistics Services (GW), a 1.2-billion-dollar entity encompassing warehousing, dedicated and brokerage focused on refrigerated commodities. Clark became President of GW Freight Brokerage in October 2007 and supervised the operations of over 25 transportation brokerage offices in the US and Canada and responsible for the daily operations of 200MM in revenue. He was given additional responsibilities of managing the TOC in 2008. The TOC was the dispatch operation of several hundred contractors and oversight of $400 MM in revenue. He was also involved in numerous acquisitions by GW Clark resigned from GW in 2010 but remained active in the industry and the TIA. He is the past 2007-2009 Chairman of TIA and has held several board positions. He is currently Chair of the Services committee and Programs committee He continues to serve on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Clark has over 30 years’ experience in the transportation industry. He has spoken at many trade functions and been published in numerous trade magazines and periodicals. In 2011, Clark was honored with the prestigious Heritage Award for outstanding contribution to TIA and the transportation industry. In 2012, after fulfilling his non-compete, and a short stint in consulting, Clark was employed by the Allen Lund Company reporting to Allen. He was Vice-President of Business Development and led their mergers, growth and acquisitions until December 2016.
