About Doug Hanby

My many years working in the Automotive Parts Industry have provided me with many skills that can be used in other industries. I started as a delivery driver and worked my way up to Parts Manager in 4 years. In the parts dept I have done, shipping and receiving, stock shelves, retail-wholesale and phone sales and maintain dept. cleanliness and keep organized. Some of these responsibilities required the use of forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks. Yearly physical Inventories were also done. I learned computer invoicing and inventory control as it became available. I have experience looking up parts using hard copy catalogs, microfiche and several electronic specifying systems. My experience as a Parts Manager required personal management. This would include, hiring, training, supervising, discipline and advancing. I believe very strongly that team work is the key to a successful Business or Department. As manager I did myself or trained an employee to process orders, daily special orders, weekly stock orders and promotional orders. I also used multiple vendors and types of electronic order systems. I did all the accounting on invoices to be forwarded to Accounts Payable. I have bid on and won multiple city and county contracts. I have also managed or supervised Physical Inventory Crews. I am a very dedicated employee. I strive for perfection and meticulous completion of all tasks I perform. I perform very well when working with a team. I am also very motivated when working alone. Organization and detail are utmost priorities to me. My computer skills are well above average. Problem solving is one of my strongest skills. I will not give up until a find a cause and a solution. I also work very well under pressure. Multitasking has never been a problem for me. I have a history of personal I have trained, moving on to management positions. I am sure my experience and skills can be helpful to your organization.
