About Doug King

I am an inspirational, engaging teacher of business who tries to encourage a love of learning. ISQAM Level 1 and Level 2. I teach GCSE to the Pearson specification, A Level to the Pearson specification and the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Business. I have successfully introduced BTEC National Level 3 Diploma in Business to Trent College to ensure more of our students has access to a pathway that is right for them. I have successfully introduced the LiBF Level 3 Certificate in Financial Studies as an enrichment co-curricular course. I have followed this up by delivering the Level 3 Diploma in Financial Studies this academic year. With my team we have significantly grown our numbers opting to study Business at GCSE or A Level to over 60% of each respective year group from 10 to 13. I encourage my Business students to engage in wider reading and super curricular activities to develop a greater depth of understanding. I have lead numerous day visits and residential trips to link theory taught to Business in action. Building on the success of a few business owners and professionals coming in to school to chat with our students, I am currently trying to build partnerships and relationships with local and national Businesses that are open to talking to our high quality students about real world business situations.
