Background
About Doug Rowlett
As a mechanic for Big Star Foods I was responsible for the maintenance and repair of class 8 trucks and trailers. The trailers had hydraulic over electric elevators which I had to maintain and repair them as well as the 220 vac. 3 phase generators. In 1980 I was sent to Thermo King School and began working on mobile refrigeration as well. In 1993 Big Star went out of business and I went to work for Marten Transport as a class A line mechanic responsible for the maintenance and repair of class 8 trucks and trailers until I was promoted to shop manager in 1995. My responsibilities were, but not limited to overseeing day to day operations of the shop, developing maintenance schedules, set schedules for balanced work schedules to keep trucks and trailers safe and available for dispatch. Develop budget estimates, monitor the quality of work and complete evaluations of my employees, and maintain a safe work place. In I returned to maintenance specifically to maintain and repair the refrigeration units. I was sent to Thermo King refresher school for 2 weeks in 2001 and a 2 week Carrier Refrigeration school in 2002. My work requires me to be self motivated and to work without supervision. It also requires me to lift in excess of 50 lbs. I work a 10 hour shift and most of it is standing on the floor of my service truck and working off of ladders. I am responsible for trouble shooting unusual problems that require reading technical manuals and electrical schematics. I have recently completed OSHA 10 training, hazmat certification, hazmat endorsement on my CDL license, which I currently have all endorsements for a CDL. I have certification for operating 7k and 15k forklifts, as well as adult/child CPR with mask and choking, adult/child AED, and infant CPR with mask and choking. I have also completed IS-100, 200, 700, and 800. I have also been through the Equip process and finger printed for my public trust security clearance which I have received. Specialties: Trouble shooting mechanical and refrigeration problems.
