About Doug Short

I serve as the EY People Advisory Services West region actuarial leader with a team of over 50 actuaries. I lead my team as it provides traditional retirement actuarial services, including design, assessment, compliance and administration of those retirement programs. My team and I also provide specialist support to the EY Assurance group reviewing the assumptions, methods and accounting of our audit client retirement programs. In addition, I provide due diligence and integration support related to business transactions. I have over 30 years of experience in retirement program and broader HR consulting, including advising companies in the areas of program transformation, company transactions and program compliance. I have served clients of all sizes across multiple industries including manufacturing, retail, defense contracting, energy and transportation industries. I partner with my clients to manage the costs, benefits and risks of their defined benefit, defined contribution and other postretirement programs, for both qualified and non-qualified plans.
