About Doug Waters

Doug is a Lead Mechanical Project Engineer at AEI. Since joining the firm in 1998, he has designed the mechanical systems for various new construction and renovation projects including research, federal, healthcare, and institutional facilities. His experience consists of mechanical systems design of sophisticated heating, ventilating, and cooling systems for research laboratories, manufacturing facilities, healthcare facilities, higher education, corporate headquarters, and office facilities. His responsibilities range from client and multi-discipline design team member interaction, general cost estimating, HVAC systems design, to specification development through the preparation of contract documents and construction observation. In conjunction with the above, Doug has designed and managed several LEED certified projects which incorporate high-performance and sustainable mechanical systems. Doug also has significant experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and has been involved in the initial development of the use of BIM within AEI. He has worked with outside consultants that use and have experience with Revit (All disciplines), Navisworks software packages, and other related BIM software design and coordination tools.
