About Doug Williams

Lessons I learned in the Navy—loyalty, hard work and fighting for your team—have served me well in life and in my career. They've definitely shaped the way I approach my role in leading and growing sales teams at Jeff Wyler. As a sales manager, I recognize the importance of working together to do right by the customer. There's nothing like being on the floor and helping someone get the car they love. There is a lot of excitement in those moments. Even in my early career days, I found that what I love most is building out teams and supporting others. And I haven't looked back since. When I'm putting a team together, I look for people who: • show genuine interest in others—this is a business built on trust and rapport • are looking for growth opportunities—there's always something new to aspire to here • want to do the work—if you invest the time, listen to what customers say and help each person find what they're looking for, you'll succeed Working one-on-one with my team is the biggest part of my day. I also oversee the service side of things and manage inventory and buying, but the thrill for me is working with people. I like getting away from my desk and spending time in the trenches negotiating with banks and helping to manage complex financial transactions. My favorite place to be is right alongside my team on the floor, helping close deals. When I'm away from the business, there's nothing I enjoy more than boating. When I left the Navy I swore I'd never get on another ship again, and yet… here I am, an avid recreational boater. I love getting out on the water, tying up and talking to people. There are so many different kinds of boaters, and you never know who you'll meet or what you can learn from them. Specialties include: sales leadership | customer experience | leadership development
