About Douglas Irish

I am passionate about helping people use technology successfully. I am a good listener, seeking to fully understand the client’s needs and a problem solver, working in collaboration with the client to find solutions. I measure my own success through my clients' successes at accomplishing their goals. In my current role with the Programs Team at D2L, I work with K-12, Colleges, Universities and Corporate clients implementing their instance of Brightspace. Together, we identify their needs and how we can ensure a successful launch of their learning management system. As an Implementation Consultant, my clients find me approachable, always willing to listen and work to understand their needs. As a Brightspace expert, I empower my clients to fully take over management of their system as I implement their solution, training key stakeholders along the way. In my previous roles as the Director of Technology for several medium to large International School’s I improved the documentation of student learning from unit planning through to portfolios and assessments. As well, I improved data security, helping divisions and offices document data collection activities, secure data areas and consider data storage, all in line with best practices, GDPR and the local Data Protection Acts. Harnessing my vast experience working within schools, I look to continue to focus my skills and knowledge of school environments assisting educators across schools supporting customer success.
