About Douglas Keddy

A passionate storyteller, my passions lie at the intersections of postsecondary education, research and internationalization. These interests are reflected in many of the experiences I have pursued, relationships I have built and corresponding perspectives I have gained. For nearly two decades, I have held progressive communications roles that support, promote and advance research, scholarship and creative activity in higher education. Throughout, I have been recognized for bringing creativity, strategic thinking, versatility, collaboration and attention to detail to lead projects, strengthen relationships and deliver a wide range of materials. To advance my profession and increase community engagement in research, I also founded Research Communicators Canada, served as President of the Science Writers & Communicators of Canada and I am currently a steering committee member of the Falling Walls Engage Hub Canada. I am also an avid explorer and global citizen who has been fortunate to leverage my communications and leadership experience to contribute to various volunteer and capacity-building initiatives in Asia, Africa, North and South America.
