Back in the States after 5 plus years of international medicine. Working in the ER of the largest hospital on the Big Island. Now free of school loans after 4+ years of service at a National Health Service Corps site in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. A lush tropical Micronesian paradise of 14 islands in the western Pacific. Visitors from both East and West call it “America’s best kept secret,” Prior to arriving there, I spent 8 months in Liberia, Africa during the time of Ebola developing infectious disease expertise. I honestly hoped those skills would never have to be used. Ironically, I am again very acquainted with PPE due to the ongoing coronavirus/COVID 19 outbreak. Graduated from the Primary Care Associate Program at Stanford University School of Medicine. California Physician Assistant license July 2014. My mental health and corrections work has given me extensive experience with difficult patients in crisis. By necessity, I've developed the ability to work autonomously in low resource situations.
