DFC provides a broad array of products and services to its plus customers through an extensive network or branches located in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Arizona and within military installations in 17+ states. DFC's banks have over $2.5B in assets. In my role as SVP & Associate General Counsel, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, I had primary responsibility over the management of and day-to-day functions of the Legal Department and management of the Legal Department employees and budget. I provide legal and business advice and have regular input across the entire banking organization including HR, retail and commercial lending, loan and deposit operations, compliance, internal audit and the marketing departments. My portfolio primarily focused on the management and resolution of problem and substandard commercial and industrial credits and the avoidance and management of offensive and defensive litigation for the company. I have front line experience in over $1B of highly sophisticated loan workouts, restructures and enforcement actions against borrowers and guarantors through foreclosures, litigation and bankruptcy. I have litigated or foreclosed property in more than 25 states across the country from FL to WA and from Maine to CA. I possess a wealth of experience and knowledge in the legal and business aspects of commercial workouts that only comes from doing them in multiple states and courts. I am also experienced in the management and sale of loans and bank owned real estate (OREO).
