Hello, I'm Douglas Patan. I am a former Banker with close to a decades experience with Westpac Bank (6 and half years) and Bank South Pacific (3 years). I later had a short stint with G4S Secure Solutions as an Accounts Receivable Credit Officer and was a top debt collector exceeding monthly forcasts in my accounts portfolio. Mr Kerry McNamara, the Managing Director of G4S in 2012 can attest to this. I came to work every weekend and was commended by Mr McNamara for my work commitment. I opted for a career change and took up Safety Safety Officer Levels 1 & 2 with Datec Learning Centre. In 2015 I was employed by a Lihirian Contractor contracted to Newcrest Mining Ltd. I was multi-tasked as a Banker, Debt Collector, Safety Officer, Permit Acceptor, Safety Supervisor and as Acting Operations Manager when my Operations Manager was on break. I gained much Safety Exposure through the assistance of Mr Paul Dossetter, Superintendent of the Engineering Processing Dept (EPD) of Newcrest in 2016 and his team, Mr Lote Mua, Mr Wesley Taram and Rodney Frankuo. I was instrumental in drafting the company's (Biorau Investment Limited) Safety Management Plan and Environmental Management Plan that was successfully approved by the Newcrest Mining Ltd's Contracts Dept which was then headed by Timmy Dakap and Susan Sapa. A milestone for the contractor as they were awarded an Accreditation Certificate and given a vendor number for the first time. This meant the company met the strict Safety Requirements and Standards and were complying with them. I achieved Nil Loss Time Injury (LTI) with most projects undertaken through Newcrest Mine's Community Development Dept and its Tax Credit Scheme. In all projects I created Job Safety Environment Analysis (JSEAs) before the projects began. As the Safety Supervisor and Permit Acceptor for these major projects on Lihir and successfully completed namely; Kunaiye Villages No 1 & 2 Road Upgrade Bitumen Sealing and Road Maintenance Project, the Construction of 10 Houses for the Putput Landowners Relocation Home Ownership Scheme, the Construction of the New Londolivit Town Main Market and the Lihir Island Ring Road Maintenance around the island (approx 80km). I did short Safety Courses with Newcrest Mines Training Dept at the Plant Site and returned back to Moresby in 2017 and did my Safety Officer Levels 3 & 4 and am a Certified Level 4 Safety Officer Supervisory. With the Safety Exposure and Skills I have aqcuired I am seeking employment with any company who are in need of a Safety Officer / Safety Supervisor or Banker and Accounts Officer
