I am a dedicated urban planner and Air Force veteran with a passion for fostering vibrant, sustainable communities. With a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University, I have built a career centered on improving urban placemaking and empowering communities through innovative strategies and collaborative engagement. My professional journey includes roles that have progressively expanded my expertise in planning, zoning, and community development: Village of Middleville: As Planning and Zoning Administrator, I managed land use planning, zoning ordinance updates, and development approvals, which set the foundation for my current leadership role as Director of Community and Economic Development. In this capacity, I oversee planning and zoning functions, manage land development projects, and spearhead downtown revitalization initiatives to promote economic vitality and historic preservation. City of East Chicago: As City Planner, I facilitated zoning and development agreements, created and managed department budgets, and advanced transit-oriented improvements in partnership with the Regional Development Authority. Elkhart County: As County Planner, I contributed to award-winning projects, including solar regulations and historic preservation initiatives. My approach emphasizes community engagement, equitable policies, and fiscal responsibility. I specialize in aligning development strategies with local needs and aspirations, leveraging data-driven insights and creative problem-solving to achieve meaningful results. With a strong foundation in urban planning and a disciplined, solution-oriented mindset honed through my military service, I am passionate about building resilient communities and fostering partnerships that inspire positive change.
