About Douglas Robinson
Dr. Douglas K. R. Robinson is a Policy Advisor at the OECD Science and Technology Policy division, where he is spearheading work on for both, and for. Douglas also leads the work on Synthetic Biology at the OECD Global Forum on Technology, and is involved in analytical work on critical advanced materials and quantum technologies. Douglas is also a research scientist (currently on leave/détachement) at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and is honorary research associate of the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP) at University College London. UK. Douglas is an expert in technology and innovation analysis, with his research and consultancy activities follow 4 interlinked axes:(1): 20 years of experience on Technology Assessment, foresight and horizon scanning of new technologies and the industries and systems they may shape (such as additive manufacturing, synthetic biology, quantum computing, advanced materials and bioprinting of living tissues). Recent work include how to develop and use strategic intelligence to guide transformation as part of the OECD Agenda for Transformative STI Policies transformative innovation policies) and strategy intelligence (including regional innovation policy and socio-economic analysis). Recent work includes analysis of sectoral mission-oriented policies with Prof. Mariana Mazzucato (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.respol.2018.10.005).(3): Responsible Innovation through projecting innovation and impact pathways through the analysis of value chains, regulatory factors, finance and potential societal/market uptake. First publication in 2009 most recent work in the OECD Framework on Anticipatory Governance and how it impacts STI policies and technology governance.
