About Douglas Welchons

Formerly an Electrical Project Manager for Rowan Electric in San Diego, CA. Working my way up from apprentice to project management over the nine years I was there. After attending Turing School of Software and Design’s backend program, I officially made a transition into the tech world and started my first job with Radial Development Group. While at Radial, I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including, web apps, IOS and Android mobile apps, APIs, firmware, and desktop applications, I worked in our core technologies, Ruby on Rails, React, and JavaScript, as well as C++, Python, Django, and Go. As a Dev lead on multiple projects, I was responsible for making design and architecture decisions to ensure long term scalability and maintainability of the code base, interfacing with clients, and managing the development team to ensure project goals were met. I currently live in northern Montana, where I enjoy the great outdoors with hobbies such as hiking & camping. I’m also an avid scuba diver with a professional Divemaster certification and a black belt martial artist.
