About Douglas Yuen

Douglas Yuen is an iOS developer with a strong interest in the design of highly usable, elegant and clean mobile apps, which have become ubiquitous with the rise of smart phone technologies. These apps have revolutionised communication and interactions with digital systems, and represents a highly exciting field to be a part of. As an iOS developer, Douglas has experience with all stages of development. At Advoz Media Inc, Douglas is involved with every step in creating user-friendly, delightful iOS apps, from the requirements analysis and design of an app, to the implementation for both the business logic and user interface, testing and shipping. Besides iOS development, Douglas has also managed other projects; most recently, he oversaw the successful development and deployment of a Shopify App. Douglas has previously contributed to the release of three mobile apps related to health data collection; these apps involve automating and simplifying collection of data for research and mental health. As a university student, Douglas was a developer with the LINDSAY Virtual Human project for six years, where he made extensive use of the Unity and Unreal game engines in his graduate research. His Master's involves the simulation of different metabolic and signal pathways within the eukaryotic cell. Douglas has published his work in academic journals and conferences, and furthermore, have presented his research in several research symposiums. Besides his professional and academic projects, Douglas has accrued experience in a variety of programming, query and markup languages through his coursework, including Python, Java, C#, SQL and HTML; his coursework projects have ranged from implementation of a multi-agent system for simulating rescue robots to building a SQL database for tracking a company’s inventory. In addition, Douglas has taken several courses on iOS Development and is familiar with Apple’s design patterns and guidelines for implementing easy-to-use, visually impressive iOS apps.
