About Douwe Kamsma

With a solid background in system development and biophysics, I am motivated to use my strong technical, analytical, and leadership skills to contribute to scientific and technological developments that can have a real positive impact on the world. During my Ph.D, I honed analytical and technical skills while developing the AFS technology, which was afterward commercialized by LUMICKS. In my current role as a senior system architect, I sharpened my multidisciplinary technical skills, working within and outside the R&D team. I learned to maintain calm in the stressful environment of high-tech product development. I understand the interaction and dependencies between the different disciplines, while always keeping the bigger picture in mind. I strengthened my communication skills while managing stakeholders and linking theirs and the customer's needs to the technical choices and trade-offs to develop a product fit-for-purpose. I get energy from working together with others, utilizing everyone's skills and interests in the best way to speed up productivity.
