About Dov Kalmann

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Dov emigrated to Israel at age 20. He has been involved in the Israeli travel industry since 1984, firstly as a tour operator for several decades, and then as a marketing, PR, and storytelling professional for global tourism brands in Israel. Dov is the founder, chairman, and chief storyteller of Terranova Tourism Marketing & Consultancy, mainly representing National Tourism Boards that have an interest in promoting their destinations in Israel. Imri, Dov's son, is the CEO and partner. Imri is supported by a team of 20 experts and account managers. Terranova has two daughter companies abroad - one in Budapest, in charge of Hungary, Romania, Poland and Czechia and one in the magical Kingdom of Bhutan, Gaya Inspirational Tours. A recently established company headed by Dov, Neuland GSA Tourism & Hospitality Ltd, represents commercial stakeholders (hotel chains, DMC agencies, attractions, etc) which are focused on increasing sales from Israel. Since 2001, Dov represents the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Israel. In 2025, Imri has replaced Dov. This was just the start of Terranova’s many success stories, all based on the company’s in-depth experience, insights, network and unique perspective on how to target the Israeli market. Many other tourism brands soon followed TAT, including HTA (Hungary), DCT Abu Dhabi, ATB (Austria), JNTO (Japan), PTO (Poland) and many more. Dov is a respected figure in the international tourism world and has been honored with various awards and types of recognition. In 2019 he was nominated as the Ambassador of the African Tourism Board in Israel, and in 2021, he received the Global Travel Hero award from the World Travel Network. In 2025 Dov was honored by a prestigious award by TLN (Travel Lifestyle Network) of which Terranova is a member. In the name of the Royal Thai Government, Dov also received the Friend of Thailand award. Dov is regularly invited to be a keynote speaker at international tourism conferences. Dov is passionate about inspirational and sustainable tourism brands, with the challenges of responsible and community-based tourism being top priorities on his public agenda.
