About Dr. Farida Khan

I chose education and the education industry choose me. I started out as a student counsellor in a school and currently serve as Senior Vice President - Curriculum at WhiteHat Jr. The journey has led me to appreciate the nuances of technology and the impactful role it can play in supporting marginalized groups. I have leveraged computer education to empower the minds of kids and youth against stereotypes create a curriculum for K8 to teach Computer Science Life Skills and Math. A mix of academic training and corporate experience in the education sector gives me an edge to inspire design create a user experience that will delight the customer facilitate foundational understanding of concepts and get business results. I follow a research and data driven approach to provide solutions. Here are the few things that define my 10 + year career as an Edtech leader: 1. My strength is designing research based innovative education products. 2. I created Computer Masti- a research backed education product and supporting books to teach computer science along with psycho-social skills to young students. As a key member of the startup incubated at IIT Bombay expanded the reach of the product to thousands of kids. 3. I have published numerous articles in academic journals and magazines on technology acceptance empowerment of youth free and open-source software for computer education at schools. 4. Proficient in creating learning-teaching content for Computer Science Life Skills and Math education. in multiple formats. (print e-learning experiential hands-on activities) 5. I have conducted 200 + trainings and workshops for teachers and school leaders. 6.
