About Drew A. Brown

I am a Supply Chain professional with a career that began as a Chemist in Quality Control. My experience spans the manufacture of Genetic Medicines, Generics and a foray to support a new Gene therapy launch. I transitioned from completing GMP release testing, to managing the test schedule of the lab. The opportunity to work alongside those executing the schedule was formative as I moved to Supply Chain. Navigating this transition required cross functional collaboration, problem solving, and leveraging interconnections. Procurement later offered the opportunity to be a key member of a team supporting the transfer of our product line, to a sister site. I oversaw the shipment of raw materials needed to support this by: implementing a new, repeatable process, being nimble and using timely communication.I am a compassionate people manager, focused on using data and thoughtful planning to deliver results in Supply Chain. I have a track record of leading effective teams through influence or direct management. This interweaves a focus on using my Lean skillset to identify constraints and finding solutions to navigate those constraints. My first introduction to Lean concepts came while I was in QC. It was exhilarating to use this framework to make people’s lives easier by reducing complexity, removing steps or making schedules clear and easy to comprehend. The capstone of my career in QC was the implementation of a holistic and sustained Laboratory scheduling process which assimilated the perspectives of end users, customers and management. I value personal integrity and recognize it as a finite resource that is difficult to regain. The strong connections I’ve had with my Managers is rooted in the value I place on integrity.
