About Drew Bartley

I changed from a research and development technician in an engineering lab to a substitute high school teacher and vocational genealogist to a full-time genealogical researcher / librarian / archivist over the course of the summer of 1984. Since then, I have been pursuing my passion for genealogy. I was fortunate to be recognized by a librarian at the New England Historic Genealogical Society that eventually hired, educated, and groomed me in many aspects of the field. After 15 years of experience with them, I have built my own business of genealogical services. My services include research for private clients from simple genealogical problem-solving cases, all-my-ancestry work, lineage application documentation, and writing / editing articles to books for clients. I also work with lawyers and town housing authorities for heir tracing and tax-title work. I have worked with national medical research studies. I present lectures on genealogy and archival topics. I do consulting work for groups, libraries, and towns concerning their collections. My major editing projects: Vermont Families in 1791 (1992, 1997), Windsor County Vermont Probate Index 1778-1899 Mayflower Descendant Vermont Genealogy (2004-present); Descendants of Isaac Allerton (2011 - research and eventual publishing), and review/format editor for other Mayflower genealogies. Specialties: My genealogical specialties are Vermont, colonial New England and upstate New York, and lineage society work, especially with the Mayflower Society.
