About Drew Gerthoffer

I was a historian. I worked for a nonprofit organization, editing an online encyclopedia and creating historic reenactment programs. Why then did I attend graduate school for clinical psychology? Because it’s important. Because it matters. After observing the devastating effects of mental illness upon my community for many years, I decided to give up a promising career in the humanities and dedicate my professional life to the amelioration of mental health problems.I completed my master's degree in psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and am currently licensed as a clinical professional counselor. I'm honored to be a part of the Nevada mental health workforce. In national surveys, Nevada consistently ranks near the bottom for access to mental health care. I hope to be part of the solution to this devastating problem.
