About Drew Kirchner

I am the President of the Pharmacy Intel Practice for Blue Raven Actuarial I am a healthcare actuary with over 17 years of experience, I love designing elegant technological solutions that reduce the cost and administrative burden of the modern healthcare system. I combine actuarial techniques with a deep knowledge of the pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry to bring intuitive and more affordable tools to hold suppliers accountable. Prior to joining Blue Raven, I was the Head of Pharmacy Economics at Cigna. While there, I led data-driven decision-making for the PBM and health plan including formulary drug coverage, pharmacy network evolution, and channel & MAC management. Innovation by manufacturers and PBMs requires constant monitoring to ensure clients and customers see the best healthcare outcomes and costs. My experience includes leading strategic-decision making for new drug disruptions (e.g, biosimilars for Humira), medical drug rebates & network evolution, and patient assistance program advancement. These unique experiences make me a savvy leader of the Pharmacy Intel Practice for Blue Raven Actuarial. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. I received his Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries in August of 2012 and am a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. I live in Colorado with his wife, Maureen, and his sons, Emerson and Avery.
