As a product designer, my approach prioritizes human-focused design, which emphasizes designing for user motivations and emotions, vs. function-focused design, which drives efficiency. I believe that a truly beautiful and effective design strikes a perfect balance between these two elements, creating interfaces that are both intuitive and delightful to use. My diversified background in project management, physical UX, interior design, film, and television has sharpened my organizational skills and research abilities, coupled with my people skills, passion for information, and empathy for days. This multidisciplinary experience allows me to find passion and excitement in the wide assortment of subject matter that product design requires. I possess a strong technical understanding that enables me to effectively communicate and work cross-functionally with various roles, including business (e.g, marketing, finance, sales), technical (e.g, backend and front-end engineers, data scientists), and design (e.g, UX researchers, designers). I focus on my strengths to create the most efficient team and bring products to life that solve for business metrics and make pain points disappear. As a product designer, I wear different hats every day and excel at working cross-functionally. My experience and feedback have taught me that I bring value to the teams I work with because: I empathize with users and engage in meaningful conversations, often with strangers, to understand their needs and motivations. I am known as an includer and strive to foster a positive and growth-oriented atmosphere for all. I thrive in environments that encourage collaboration, believing that teams rise and fall together. I generate ideas and often find it hard to turn off my brain when excited about something. I am a data hound who loves to back up best practices and build efficiencies with the story data can tell. I am a techno-optimist with a pragmatic approach, always considering the ethical and business implications of design decisions.
