About Drew Pagnusat

I'm a junior at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, currently double majoring in accounting and finance. I enjoy being put in a leadership role, collaborating with groups, and working with Excel. I have demonstrated these strengths starting with my time at Oak Forest High School where I was captain of the basketball team for two years. Along with the other captains, I pushed my team to work hard in the off season and helped lead us to a 26-9 record on the season. Additionally, I thrive working with Excel in my class at IU and was even able to share some of my knowledge with my dad, a Corporate Controller who works in Excel daily. Outside of school, I'm working to further enhance my existing skills while striving to develop in other areas. This summer I had the opportunity to work as an accounting/finance intern for The Horton Group, an insurance brokerage firm. Microsoft Excel and Teams were used constantly in our daily activities for transactions, quick communication, and team meetings. I specifically input our cash receipts, disbursements, and benefits everyday. I also saw many areas of and assisted in an efficient month end close, helping with certain tasks including 401K allocations, audit schedules, and accruals. I'm taking on any opportunity given to me so I can see as many aspects and accounting processes as I can. In the future, I want to use all the knowledge and skills I've developed at IU and The Horton Group to work for an accounting firm as an audit intern. I will further develop my skills every year and with every opportunity I encounter.
