Background
About Drew Rowlands
I have now retired from full time employment having spent 7 very happy years with IVE. I now intend to pursue new projects and pieces of work that feed my passion for creativity, education and the arts! Prior to IVE, I had spent over 25 years in senior leadership roles within schools. Areas of expertise include Leadership and leadership development, developing and delivering training programmes, teaching and learning, curriculum design, creativity development and creativity as a transferable skill. I am an experienced mentor and coach working across sectors to develop professional capacity. In IVE I led our trading company IVE Innovative, which specialises in creative leadership training for business. I have over 20 years experience in governance; having been Chair of Members for a multi academy trust in Bradford, Vice Chair of a through school in Leeds and several governor roles in the North West. I have a good deal of experience in introducing transformational change, including working with a range of stakeholders in order to establish a coherent vision, and the strategies that will be employed to ensure sustainability. Outside of work; I have been a professional actor and member of British Actors Equity Association for over 30 years. I am also Chair of Education and board member of Shakespeare North and a Fellow of Royal Society for the Arts (FRSA) In January 2014 I had my first novel published. Tales of an Ordinary Man, which tells the story of a boy growing up in Liverpool during World War 2. I would say it falls under a category of fictionalised memoir with a humorous view of social history. Now retired I intend to write a follow up novel, a book on the supernatural, a screenplay and several academic books about creativity!
