About Drew Vance

Originally from a cattle ranch in South Dakota, I currently work at DOWLin Billings, Montana. I graduated with my Master's Degree from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in 2018. I love Montana with all the amazing hikes and equally amazing breweries. My typical week involves work, the gym, training the dog, and axe throwing. I have a passion for GIS technology and water resource-related projects. I have worked on a variety of engineering design projects including Irrigation Culverts, Urban Storm Water, and Storm Water detention & Bypass. I am familiar with FEMA Floodplain data capture tasks such as Topographic, Structure Survey & Inventory, Hydraulic Modeling, Floodplain Mapping, Flood Risk Products. I have modeling experience in HEC-RAS and GeoHEC-RAS creating 1D & 2D models, Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis, HEC-HMS, HY-8, and SWMM. I am capable of database design, data entry form design, reporting, and spatial analysis in Microsoft Access, ArcMap, ArcPro, ESR Collector, and QGIS. I have also produced final construction drawings & details in Microstation Open Roads.
